Someone came to the door today while I was in the shower and I told Karlee not to answer it when she came in and told me. When I got out and dressed I asked her some questions about it. It made me laugh when she gave me her answers! Here is how it went.
Mom~ So who was at the door?
Karlee~ I don't know. I promise I didn't open the door or talk to her through the window and she didn't talk to me.
Mom~ What did she look like?
Karlee~ She had curly hair.
Mom~ Did she look familiar, like someone we know?
Karlee~ No, she looked famous.
Mom~ Really?
Karlee~ Ya, she wasn't very cute. Not one of your appointments.
So apparently you have to 1~ be one of my appointments to be cute and 2~ if you're famous you are ugly. Gotta love their logic! This still is putting a smile on my face, too funny!
If you're listening, if you're awake to the poignant beauty of the world, your heart breaks regularly. In fact, your heart is made to break; it's purpose is to burst open again and again so that it can hold ever more wonders. ~ Andrew Harvey

My baby girl is 5!!
I can't believe she is 5! It seems like yesterday we brought her home as a chubby 10 month old. Karlee has such a big and loving personality. She makes us laugh and drives us crazy! I love the funny things she does and says. She has such a tender heart and will cry in any movie that an animal gets hurt. Karlee is so excited to be like Austin and start school in the fall. She loves to play with her friends, play dress up, house, and be outside running free. She loves taking pictures and posing for the camera! We have so much fun with her! She is such a joy to our family and we love her very much!

3 Years!
I was going to post this last week but time got away from me. The month of February gets me thinking, and amazed that we have 2 wonderful little kids. Feb. 8th 2006 we finalized the adoption of Austin and Karlee and changed their middle and last names to match with our family. How special they are to us! I will be forever grateful to their birth mother for having the courage to let her children become a permanent part of our family. We are constantly told that our kids are so lucky to have us as parents and I believe it is Jason and I who are the lucky ones. These kids have enriched my life in a way that I never could have imagined. I feel blessed.
On Feb. 25th 2007 we were sealed to our children for eternity. The kids still talk about that special day. I was so glad we could take the kids to see the Draper Temple and that Karlee could see the "magic mirrors" as she calls them! They get upset when Jason and I go to do a session at the Temple and they don't get to go! It was such an amazing day and I am glad that they remember it!
The memories of these 2 special days will forever be inbedded in my heart! I love Austin and Karlee so much and I feel honored to be their mother.
