Am I good enough??

I have been asking myself this question a lot lately with my career. I've been noticing that I've been losing clients, I've noticed the one's I do regularly are getting their hair done and I know I didn't do it.......... And I have had THE slowest December that I can remember. Maybe I'm not doing as good a job as I think I do??? What do I do?! Jason has suggested that I go to workshops to better my skills, which I would love to do but they are pricey and aren't in the budget as of right now. I guess I will just keep doing my best and put myself out there on Facebook that I have availability. I do know that paying my tithing helps and I am grateful that we have been able to pay our bills and buy the things we need. Just needed a place to vent and hopefully everyone is just on a budget with Christmas and they will come back at the first of the year!

Twister Mania!

I applied for a Twister Mania game party and we were accepted! It was a crazy night with lots of friends and tons of kids! It's a really fun game to play on the Kinect for the Xbox 360 for those of you who aren't gamers.  The kids had so much fun that the adults hardly got any playing time.

Halloween

I guess it's better late than never to post about Halloween!

The kids had a great time trick or treating this year! I think it's because the weather was so mild and warm for the holiday. I know I enjoyed it! Karlee was Super girl, Austin was an old man (he created his costume all by himself), and Blake was our football star!

Blake Turns 1

Humbled

A few weeks ago one of my client's passed away. His name is Fred Austin . I was asked by the family to cut and style his hair for the services. Can I just say what a humbling experience it was to do this for old Fred. I was nervous that it might be creepy and uncomfortable. So, before I went I called my good friend Kristi that I used to work with to ask her what to expect. She has had a couple of clients pass away and has some experience with doing hair for the deceased. She was a great help. I was so pleased with how well it went. I was truly humbled to do this one last thing for someone.

Make Over and Photo Shoot

Earlier this year I won a free make over and photo shoot. It was so much fun! I loved getting my hair and make-up done by someone else, and the photographer was a doll!! Here are some of my favorites of Jason and I.

Fun huh?! Now I just have to figure out which pictures to buy for my walls!

MRI=Good Times

It all started at football try outs. Austin got tackled and landed on his knee hard. It swelled up to the size of a softball. It was painful and bruised. He stayed off of it for a good week and went to practice. Landed on the same knee again. Hurts more now. So off to our Sports Medicine doctor. He's amazing by the way! Anyway's Dr. Brinton took an x-ray and wasn't 100% sure if he had fractured his femur or not just by the knee cap. He recommended that Austin have an MRI to make sure there wasn't any serious injury. So, to IMC we went. Poor kid was scared to death. Of course he had never been to a hospital for himself and what the heck is an MRI?! So I tried my best to calm his nerves and I was able to stay in the room as long as I wore these awesome ear plugs! I took about an hour to have the images taken. I had no idea that the machine would be so loud as the magnets spun around to get the image. It was interesting. Austin did great at holding still and they got the images sent to the doc. Luckily Dr. Brinton said there were no fractures! YES! On the down side the tendon that goes underneath the knee cap had some inflammation so he wasn't allowed to do any running or playing for 3 weeks! It about killed Austin to sit on the sidelines and watch. He finally got the go ahead this week to start playing football. Let's hope the rest of the season is injury free!!

Blake's Funny New Trick!

Splash Pad with Aunt Tina and Grandma C

Another fun adventure we had this month was going to see Aunt Tina at a splash pad near her house. Blake loved it! He crawled all over the place. So fun! The kids had a great time running around and showing off for us. Grandma C drove down with us and we took a picnic lunch. It was a fun time!

Visit to Great Grandma's house

Two weeks ago tomorrow I drove the kids to Provo to see their Great Grandma. Sadly she has never met Blake. She is almost 87 and can't drive up to Salt Lake by herself and life gets crazy when you have kids. Not that I should be making excuses for not visiting my Grandmother. I feel terrible that Blake was almost 10 months old before she got to meet him in person. She was so excited when I called her to let her know we wanted to come visit. She has been really lonely lately. I need to make it a priority to visit her more.  

The kids thought (Karlee thought) her house was amazing. Grandma has a lot of neat things to look at. Karlee was amazed at the old pictures, jewelry and rooms in her house. Grandma even has an old brush and hand mirror set that Karlee adored. Great Grandma took us out to lunch and afterwards showed us some of her picture albums. It was so fun to see her. Blake even thought her nick nacks were awesome. In fact he liked them so much he even broke one of them. Man those babies move fast when you're not watching them close!

I also need to document that Blake and Great Grandma share the same birthday! Grandma thinks that is the best part. Having a great grand baby to share your birthday with.

It was hard to leave her house that day. She was so glad to have the company that she cried when we left. I need to make sure that I get down to visit her again soon. I love her so!
