Holy Cow!

I took Karlee to her well child check today so we could get her registered for Kindergarten. We have always known that she has been in the top 90% since she was 10 months old but today she blew me away. Right now she stands at 3' 11" and 48.6 pounds which means she is in the 99% for her height and 90% for her weight. WHAT?!?!?! I was floored, the doctor said she seems to be learning at a 6 year old rate and is healthy and on her way to be a tall girl. Karlee also freaked out when it was time for the shots. I am sure it is because they wanted to pull her pants down and give them in her thighs. She talked the nurse into giving them in her arms. She calmed right down and didn't flinch or cry at all when she actually gave the shots. I was very impressed. She is definitely smarter beyond her age. It scares me.........

Pain!

2 weeks ago Jason had an abscess tooth. It started on Friday after work and got progressively worse and worse. Saturday night he got a blessing to help with the pain and it seemed to help for a few hours, but by 11:00 that night he was not doing well. I had fallen asleep and he got up and went into the family room to not disturb me. Sweet! I felt so bad though, I woke up at 4:30 that morning and I couldn't believe he had fallen asleep. He woke up shortly after I had checked on him in such terrible pain! He was in tears and I am sure if the pliars were readily available he would've pulled the tooth himself! So by 5:00 in the morning I was online trying to find an emergency dentist. That was quite a feat! I swear dentists have the most lax working hours! Most of them only work Monday-Thursday. What?!?! Well, I finally found a dentist that for a $285 fee would meet us at his office at 7:30 in the morning to help us out! The best money we have spent on Jason's behalf! This is a picture of him after the shot of novocaine! He was finally able to smile because the pain was instantly gone!

The dentist took an x-ray to make sure he was working on the right tooth and sure enough it was infected enough that the tooth needed to be pulled. This is after. Poor guy! His face stayed swollen for the next couple of days but the pain was gone! Hallelujah!

Catch up

I guess it is about time I updated the blog! It has been a busy couple of weeks around here. First off, Austin got to do his first science project which of course I was not to happy about doing. More work for me than him. Well I found this really fun idea for him and it turned out to be a lot of fun. We tested our sense of balance with our eyes open and our eyes shut. I got some really good pictures of everyone falling! It was really funny!

Karlee was listening to some music with her Daddy and she talked him into dancing with her. These are some cute shots of the two shaking it up on the dance floor!

Here is the video of Austin doing his presentation of his science project! He did such a good job that he was chosen to go to the nationals and be judged with a one other kid from his grade. He was so excited. Unfortunately he didn't take any 1st, 2nd or 3r place ribbons

but he had fun doing it I think!
