Bunny's anyone?

Yesterday Jason went shooting with some buddies and decided Austin could go along this time. Austin got to learn how to shoot a pistol and a rifle. The rifle video I uploaded is hilarious. First of all it was really heavy for him to hold, it took a couple tries for him to actually pull the trigger
and second the kick back was more than he bargained for! It was fun to watch and I'm glad I'm glad I sent the camera with Jason. Austin had such a good time he an't wait to go back!

Preschool Graduation

I can't believe that graduation time is here! Karlee was very excited to sing all the songs she had learned during the school year to us as part of the graduation ceremonies. She has learned so much and we are so proud of her! What am I going to do when she is in school?!? It will be a huge adjustment to not have my little shadow around the house.

Karlee has been begging for a haircut and Saturday I finally gave in. It was so funny too, we went downstairs to the salon and Karlee wouldn't let me start cutting her hair until she looked through a hair magazine to find the haircut she wanted! Just like a little grown up! She found a cute haircut and this is how it turned out.

We cut about 4 inches off of her hair. She was so excited!

Daddy wasn't too happy about it! He is just like any other guy and thinks girls hair should be long. Oh well! Sunday morning when I went to wake her up the first thing Karlee asked was, "Is my hair still short Mommy?" I laughed and said "Yes, of course it is!" Funny girl!

We have had a couple busy weeks that I need to journal!!! First of all last week we went to the zoo and had a fun time there! Karlee and Carston where all over the place running from one animal to the next! They had a great time!

I had the opportunity to go to Young Women's and one of our advisors taught a photography class to us. It was so fun! I learned things I never thought about when taking a picture. Here are a few shots from that night. This first one is of some of our girls posing!

We went to a golf course and there were some beautiful places to shoot pic's! Here is a shot of some grasses that were growing along the water hole.

It was really neat to see how to turn a normal picture into a piece of art. I think I am going to find a class and take it so I can get better. It's a little addicting!

Today we went to the park with Karlee's preschool for a picnic. This is her last week and she has enjoyed preschool so much. This is Karlee with her teacher Brandi whom she adores!

Karlee has also made friends with this really cute boy named Ethan. She says that he kisses her on the lips! AGH! I told her she wasn't old enough to kiss boys and her response was

"Uh-huh mom. We are 5 and that is old enough to kiss boys!"

Um, do ya think I have my hands full or what?!?!

Tomorrow is preschool graduation and I am so excited for the program. Karlee has been practicing the songs for a couple weeks now here at home and they are so cute! It has been a really fun year for her and she can't wait to start Kindergarten in the fall!

Mother's Day Weekend

What a great weekend! It all started with a race on Saturday morning. I was up bright and early to go downtown to do a 5K for the Race for the Cure. I was on a team supporting a very close friend of mine. Jeanie was my second mom growing up. I practically lived at her house, I am best friends with her daughter Kerri. Jeanie has had breast cancer and is still doing chemotherapy. We raced in honor of her, the team "Jogging for Jean's Jug's"!! I thought it was such a cute and funny name. This was my first 5K race and I was really excited. My original plan was to run the entire race but was held back by getting shin splints. Though my training slowed me down I was able to walk/run in the race and finished it in 50 minutes. I feel accomplished and am still training myself to run. I hope to run another 5K by summer's end and I mean RUN it!! After the race we went to Jason's Mom's house to help her with her Mother's Day gift. What the siblings decided to do this year was yard work, weed, plant a vegetable garden, pull out some bushes, and plant flowers. It was a lot of hard work and it was a great opportunity to teach our kids service. Everyone that came worked really hard and the yard looks great!
Austin was put to work weeding and gatherin up tree branches and garbage to throw away. He was a real trooper and did a great job! He even got to help plant some vegetables with the help of his Uncle Kelly! He had a good time playing around with Wesley.

Karlee even got in on the work and helped Aunt Connie plant some flowers. She was filthy by the time the day was over but she had a great time!

After Grandma Bronson's we hurried home to get ready for the races! We got some free tickets in the mail and from my good friend Danelle (thanks Danelle!) and went to see the oval races at Rocky Mountain Raceways. The kids had a blast and were on the edge of their seats when it came time for the figure 8 train cars!! They are the best to watch. Karlee was nervous about the cars crashing and kept asking when we were leaving because it was scary! Funny thing is she can't stop telling people about the race!
Sunday was such a nice relaxing day. Jason grilled some dinner for us and I even got a nap! Later that day we went to my Mom's to visit. She has a duck that has made a nest and has about 6 eggs she is sitting on. The kids were really excited to see the momma duck.

I was really surprised at how calm the duck was while we were looking at her. She never made a move and didn't even quack at us! The kids played and played in the backyard!

It was an awesome weekend and I am glad to have spent it with so many great Mom's that I have in my life~ I am very blessed!
