Busy Weekend!

We had such a fun weekend! It all started with sleeping out downtown for the parade. It was quite an eventful night. The sprinklers came on twice while we were trying to settle down and sleep. There was plenty of people watching going on too! It was a ton of fun and I'm glad I took the kids. Next was Austin's birthday party bbq with my family. Always fun to get together. We had a great time. When that was over we headed to watch some fireworks to celebrate the 24th. We were so tired that we slept in until 11am Sunday morning. Yes we sluffed church. I know, I know, sinner! LOL Later Sunday evening we went hiking up Provo Canyon to some waterfalls. It was so fun! The falls were beautiful and the kids took full advantage of getting wet! It was a fun filled weekend and we were sad to see it end.

Thoughts

I am one lucky Mama. Last night we followed Austin and Karlee in the car as they road their bikes to our friends house to watch fireworks. It was so fun to watch. They were having the time of their little lives. They have never ridden their bikes that far, and to see the look on their faces as they rode along was priceless. I wish I would have had my camera ready to capture the moment. As I was watching them I just couldn't help but be overwhelmed with happiness. I have the 2 best kids in the whole entire world. They are my life. It's an amazing feeling to be a parent. I couldn't have been a more lucky gal than at that moment in time last night.

1-2-3 strikes your out!

All Stars came to an end this week.

It was a double elimination and we lost our second game on Tuesday night. Austin was really bummed about it. By the next day he seemed to be over it and was enjoying the freedoms of doing what he wanted for the summer, like going to the pool! I am so proud of Austin and the job he did this year. This is the first time he has been able to play for State. It was a lot of fun but I'm glad it's over. Here are some pictures of my A-man in action!

One of the things that we haven't done as a family is go to Kennecott. The kids were pretty amazed by a mountain turned inside out. We watched a movie about how the mine works and walked around the little museum they had. Austin learned a lot and thought the 'fool's gold' was so awesome! Ha ha! He cracks me up. Karlee loved looking through the big silver binoculars to look down into the pit. I also took my crazy friend Jackie and Trina and her kids came with us. I was also watching my niece Emma and she tagged along and had a great time running all over the place. Here are some pictures from that field trip.

I love that our summer is finally here now that baseball isn't ruling our lives. Just a matter of time and it will be football taking over. Oh well, it's worth it to see your kids doing something they enjoy!

Happy 10th!

Happy Birthday to our favorite Allstar!! I can't believe you're 10 already. Time flies when you're having fun. Austin you have grown up to be such a great kid. You are so kind and loving to those around you. You are a great big brother and such a great help to me. I love you so much!! Hope you have a great birthday!!

Traditions!

For my birthday one of my favorite books, turned into a movie was released. I know Summit Entertainment did it just for me! I must write them a letter and thank them for their kindness. I decided I needed to invite my best girlfriends and we needed to go out and celebrate! I must say it was one of the best gifts I have ever given to myself! Ha! Hopefully next year more of them will be able to join me. It was a fantastic night. One that will take the top 10 best girl nights out list!

We met for dinner at the Olive Garden, had some great laughs and then headed to the movie theater to get our seats! The anticipation to see it a second time was high for me! This one is the best out of the 3 that have been released. ( I won tickets to see it Tuesday night which was opening night so I saw it before most of the girls in my group) Bonus!

The movie wouldn't be complete of course with out Jacob and Edward checking me out all night!

After the movie my friend Sarah and Marie invited me to go along with them to stay in the hotel that Marie's company paid for. Marie isn't in the photo because she was busy getting ready for the premier. She is a consultant for Cents of Style and they are who we purchased the tickets from for this event. They gave away a ton of prizes, none of which I won :(, and put the show on for us! Any way we headed there after the movie. We stayed up WAY too late talking and laughing. 3:00 am is way to late for this old lady to stay up but I did. The conversations got silly and we laughed our butts off! It was like I said one of the best girls night out I have had in a while. Thanks to all of you who were able to join me for my birthday celebration!!

Last week we got to go to the Princess Festival in Lindon with the girls. It is so much fun to go to! They do a story line with all of the little princess's to help solve the Character Princess's problems. Then we went on a treasure hunt where at the end a handsome prince fits them with a shoe and they got a special prize! Karlee had  more fun playing on the playground more than anything. It is pretty impressive. Here are some of the picture's I took.

As you can see Karlee is pretty happy about getting fitted for the prince! It was hotter than Hades but SO much fun to go and watch the kids have fun!

I have to throw in this picture of Austin playing in All Stars. It's been fun to watch this year. Tomorrow is the official beginning of the tournament. I'm sad I won't be there. I have tickets to Eclipse that I just have to go and use! Ha ha ha! Austin is one good player and I look forward to his tournament this year!

I had to throw in this one too! This is last Saturday night while waiting for the West Fest fireworks to start. It was a lot of fun watching the kids goof off and have fun while waiting. I love summer time!
