Camp 2008

What a fun trip! We just got back from our famous reunion with the Domgaard's and Farley's! This year we ventured up Little Cottonwood Canyon to Tanners Flat. It was beautiful! The river was raging from all of the melt off and was absolutley gorgeous!

We always take turns making meals and Jason was very proud of our dutch oven pizza! It was delicious and very easy to put together.

And as you can see EVERYONE was enjoying it! We also had a delicious meal the night before and too bad I didn't have my camera at the right moment. Farley's made a turkey that ended up being a crispy black outside and a lovely tender juicy meat on the inside! It was quite the fiasco for them! But it was delicious and everyone will remember the lovely turkey neck! Poor Anika and the sex ed. 101! Ha ha ha! We had so much fun teasing that teenager!

The first day up at camp we decided to go up Big Cottonwood Canyon and hike Doughnut Falls. The Kids loved the hike! The only problem........ Karlee couldn't understand why we didn't have any doughnuts when we got up there to eat! So funny! On our way back to camp we stopped at the 7-11 and bought some doughnuts so that our cute 4 year old would be appeased!

After the hike we drove up to Silver Lake to have lunch. We walked around on the boardwalk and I couldn't believe all the snow that was still up there! The kids thought it was GREAT!

We had so much fun and can't wait for our next adventure! We love the chance to spend time with good friends!

It's official!

It is official....... I am now busier than I ever thought I could be. You know when you move into a new ward and you hope you can stay under the radar for a while and not do a whole lot? Well the radar has found me and I am a little overwhelmed! The Bishop has asked me to be the 1st counselor in the Young Women's.......... what a fun and crazy place to be! And, talk about baptism by fire! We have girls camp and trek coming up! I am grateful that I don't have to plan camp this year! I can just go and enjoy getting to know the girls and helping out. So, if you need me anytime soon I will not be available on Wednesday nights or Sunday afternoons for a while! I am excited and scared all at the same time. I was just in the primary as a chorister for only a month and I really liked being there!! I guess I was having too much fun and the Lord thought I needed a good challenge. GAME ON!

Baseball

Well, it is finally over..... a long awaited baseball season! Austin's team took 4th place! He had so much fun doing this, and we had fun watching him! He has come a long way on his skills and team efforts. What a good experience for him. We are so very proud of our "little slugger!" It was very cold this season and we even survived a big wind storm. He even got to be on a team with his best friend Jaden. Austin loved pitching and catching for the team this year. This saturday the coaches are taking the boys to a BEE'S game and they get to run the field after the game is over. He is so excited! Austin you are such a good athelete and we are very proud of you!

Weekend

Well, this weekend went by in a blur! I got to go on a retreat with our ward Relief Society and boy was it fun! We went to a cabin in Midway to spend the night and get to know each other better. I had such a great time! Too bad I forgot my camera!!! I was also in charge of the food and left about half of it at one of the sister's houses! I didn't realize I had forgotten it until someone asked where the taco meat was! OOPS! Luckily we had some groups coming up still so the food made it up there and no one starved! I am such a space case! It was so beautiful and such a great opportunity to get to know my ward better!
On saturday I went to my friend Sarah's and learned how to save money on groceries! I am so excited to start! I will keep you posted on my progress. The website is called grocery smarts and it helps you know what stores have the best sales and what coupons to use from the sunday paper to get the best prices. If it works out well I will hold a class here so I can let everyone I know have a chance to save!
When I got home Jason and the kids were very excited! I was glad to be back too! We went to dinner and then over to a friends house to help with their yard for a bit. We came home and got the kids to bed and the phone rang. It was the Stake President making an appointment to see us in the morning. Well, of course we were nervous wondering what calling was coming next! Our ward had just split so there is a lot of reorganizing to be done! Well, the big news..... Jason is in the Elder's Quorum Presidency again! He is the first counselor and is very excited about the new position. We are having so much fun in our new ward and getting to know every one! Of course we miss all of our friends from the old 'hood but are very grateful for this new experience! We are so very blessed!!

As some of you might know I watch my nieces on Monday's. Karlee just loves playing with them. This is Jadyn, she is 5 and will start kindergarten in the fall. They were playing dress up yesterday and this is their final product! They are so funny!
I just love how they needed to pose for the pictures!

Karlee just loves our neighbors! This is her friend Jaden. They LOVE to play together! They are usually pretty cheesy too, when they see each other outside they do a big cheesy hug and are so excited to play! We love having such a cute neighbor for her to play with!
