Mother's Day Weekend

I love Mother's Day weekend. It's one of my favorite holiday's. Mostly it's because I cherish being a mother. It took so long for this particular blessing to happen to me that I can't help but feel blessed and lucky to have 3 beautiful kids! The Saturday before Mother's Day is always a busy one for me. It starts out with a 5k honoring one of my best friends mother who has had breast cancer and is still continuing to fight cancer currently. I love doing this race! Next year I think it might be time to bring Karlee along with me!

Here's our Jeanie Beanie! She's quite the fighter!

Kerri and sweet Charlotte

Shannon and Ella

This is why I need Karlee with me! I'm all alone, I need her by my side :)
It is now tradition to go to Jason's Mom's house and do yard work and plant flowers for her for Mother's Day. The kids really enjoy giving service to their Grandmother. Blake even got in on the action this year. He loved it!

Karlee with her favorite Aunt Connie. I don't think Karlee left her side that whole day!

Field Trip Time!

I was able to go on a field trip with Karlee's class to This Is The Place. I really love going there. The kids learn a lot about the heritage of Utah and how the pioneers lived before modern technology.

Chasing the poor ducks!

These cows are native to Scotland. It made me laugh at how furry they are!

Last port of call Costa Maya

This was the last stop on the cruise. Costa Maya Mexico. It was our least favorite of the stops we made. I will get into why later. It was a really windy day here but memorable.

It amazes me at how massive these cruise ships are!
 Jason is one tough guy!
Trolley to get to the shops.
Jason wanted to get a shot of the waves rolling in behind me. The seas were churning!
Entrance to the shops. We decided to take a taxi to the main beach after wandering some of the shops. It was quite the adventure. We saw some pretty crazy living conditions on our way there.
 The corner bar.
A view of the town. Jason was getting nostalgic as we were driving because everything reminded him of his mission in Chile. The small town, the run down buildings, the way the people survive. He was in heaven in a sort of way.
The only decent looking tourist spots to stay that we saw. Cute little cabanas!
One of the many mini stores.
The boardwalk of hell. I have never been hassled by so many people for a massage in my life. Not to mention everyone wants you to come in their shop to buy their neat nick knacks. One of the reason's I didn't enjoy this stop was how pushy they were to make a buck.

The beach was so filthy here too. They didn't bother manicuring them. Sea weed and garbage everywhere. If you can tell by the look on my face I wasn't impressed at all.
Getting back on the ship after our adventure of a day. We did haggle with one shop keeper over a dress I wanted for Karlee. She originally wanted $65 bucks for it and I talked her down to $25. I was pretty excited about that. We also got a few souvenirs and t-shirts for a good price too.
Tonight we had a cute little frog on our bed.
We had a one full day on the ship to head back to Florida. We spent the day soaking up the sun and I did a 5k walk for the Susan G. Komen association for breast cancer. We enjoyed every last minute we could on the ship. This was one of the most amazing vacations we have ever been on and I can't wait until I can go again! The next time I would love to take our kids. They would love it!
